The Block Museum’s Emily Forsgren was browsing the book store at the Art Institute of Chicago when she spotted this publication on a display table recently.

The companion catalogue to the exhibition Ancestral Modern: Australian Aboriginal Art from the Kaplan & Levi Collection at the Seattle Art Museum, the book includes an essay by Lisa Corrin, the Block’s Ellen Philips Katz Director. Lisa was asked to imagine ways to “stage” conversations between paintings in the Kaplan & Levi Collection and other contemporary works in the Seattle Art Museum’s holdings.

The catalogue is available through Yale University Press, in addition to being on sale at the Art Institute. The exhibition is on display at the Seattle Art Museum through September 2.
